BIO:

Joel Farrell is a powerful second-row forward who plays for the Sheffield Eagles in the Betfred Championship and represents Jamaica at international level. Born in Huddersfield, he has built a reputation as one of the most physical and hard-working back-rowers in the competition. Farrell has played for Dewsbury Rams, Batley Bulldogs, and spent time on loan at Newcastle Thunder, before joining Sheffield in 2019, where he has since become a senior leader and, in 2025, was named club captain.

Farrell has earned 9 caps for Jamaica, scoring 3 tries and 4 goals at international level. He was part of the Reggae Warriors squad that competed in the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

Known for his aggressive defence, powerful ball-carrying, and no-nonsense approach, Farrell brings intensity and consistency to every performance. His work ethic and physical presence have made him a key figure for both Sheffield and Jamaica.
