Rhys Lovegrove is an Australian-born former professional rugby league forward and current coach, best known for his long Super League career with Hull Kingston Rovers and his coaching roles across the British game. Born in Sydney, Lovegrove came through the Australian system as a standout junior, representing the Australian Schoolboys in 2004.
He moved to England in 2007, joining Hull KR, where he became a fan favourite across 160 appearances over eight seasons. He later played for the London Broncos and Bradford Bulls before retiring in 2016 due to injury.
Transitioning into coaching, Lovegrove worked on the staff at Bradford and Doncaster before being appointed head coach of Keighley Cougars in 2019. He led Keighley to an invincible League 1 title in 2022 and was named League 1 Coach of the Year.
In 2023, he joined the London Broncos as assistant coach, helping them achieve promotion to Super League, and later returned to Hull KR as Academy Head Coach.
Lovegrove is the Assistant Coach, bringing his experience and development-focused approach to the Reggae Warriors.
